  I went here with my wife and parents. It is upscale dining with a modern edge. The service was great, not a single detail was ignored. We sat at the chef's table and could see up close the kitchen team cooking and prepping meals. Dinner was delicious, creative, and quite filling. After dinner, the chef invited guests up to roast homemade marshmallows on the wood fire.

  We loved everything about Backhouse -- food, atmosphere, service, drinks -- a must try!! The outside is quite deceiving with its frosted opaque windows and minimal signage, likely to deter walk-ins. Your senses awaken as you step inside; first with the smell of the wood fire, followed by the sight of the kitchen straight ahead. They were considerate and asked if we were attending the theatre after dinner (which we were!) and they advised us on which tasting would work best for timing. We loved the presentation of every dish and of course, the taste! Everything was fresh and unique, and our server took the time to explain each dish and its wine pairing. It was truly a great experience all around and we've since told so many that they MUST try Backhouse!

  One of the best restaurant experience I have ever had. I went for the tasting menu and thoroughly enjoyed it. If you are looking for just a meal, this place will far exceed that with an experience that you will not soon forget. My wife and I were seated at the counter where the head chef-Ryan worked his magic like a general commanding his troop, but in the best way possible. My wife and I had the wine pairing also and that was outstanding as well. Be sure to reserve in advance before you go for your special night out.
