If I could give this garden negative stars, I would. I believe the rave reviews are written and posted by the owners and their employees. Firstly, I went to this garden centre, mistakenly under the impression they sell garden flowers - all kinds and varieties of flowers. No such thing. They had a small handful of varieties of garden plants and A LOT of garden junk - mostly, fibreglass animals, pots and a countless array of doormats...who knew there were that many kinds! I did find two plants, each with two open flowers, that I really liked and decided to purchase. I took them to the checkout desk, where the cashier imposed her view that the plants I had selected were very difficult to maintain outside of the "nursery" environment and that the plants would be better off there rather than in the ambient environment of my home - remember that, these are garden plants that I had selected for purchase. Upon her insistence, I decided not to purchase them. The following day I thought, "how ridiculous!" and went back to purchase these same plants, only to find that all of the flowers had been cut off from all of the plants of this particular variety. I was shocked! I did find one plant that had one flower that hadn't been removed, which I selected to purchase. I went to the cash register to pay for it and advised that very same cashier, that misinformed me the day before, that I didn't appreciate what she had done and that I would have purchased both plants if they still had the flowers intact. As such, I purchased only the one plant - so I still got what I wanted, though I never expected to be misled/deceived by the staff. I won't be going there again - who needs the drama! I'm just grateful that the staff are quite sloppy at what they do and overlooked a flower on on one of the potted plans!!! All round - I got what I wanted, and the cashier had and awkward moment!

I was there the other day and purchased two "catnip" plants, which turned out to be catmint - you can't fool a cat! I discovered that it was not catnip by chance - I visited another garden centre, the Sunshine Express Garden Centre, also in NOTL, and realized the difference because they have both cat mint and catnip. I learned that cat mint grows taller and catnip shorter and denser, though both have the same leaf shape. I wonder how it is that a garden centre doesn't know this detail and mislabels a product? I'll be shopping at Sunshine Express - the place is a botanical lover's Dream Garden Nursery.
